Different by design
Facebook, X and Instagram are attention businesses that happen to carry news. InstaPress is the other way round: every decision below costs us engagement on purpose.
When a hundred people film the same flooded underpass, other networks show you a hundred clips. InstaPress groups them into a single story and shows you one. Tap it and every report, photo and clip is there — in one place, when you want it, not scrolled past one at a time.
Reach is capped. A report can be lifted into view by how many people found it useful, but never past what a subject you actually follow is worth — and a claim our desk has disputed earns no reach at all, however many reactions it collected.
Every story carries the reason it reached you: a topic you follow, a place you care about, a source you trust. Interests come from what you choose and what you read, they are yours to change, and there is no hidden ranking you cannot inspect.
Designed for the story
Most of what makes a social feed addictive is deliberately absent. No advertising in the feed. No third-party scripts watching you read. No infinite hole to fall into — the daily brief ends, and that is the point.
Trust is infrastructure
A verdict on InstaPress may only be published with a source attached — no source, no verdict, and the claim stays marked "under review" rather than being called false. We ingest published fact-checks daily so those sources are real and citable. We take no party line, and no side of left or right.
